There will always be people who do not understand why I share. If you haven't gone through trauma maybe it seems that someone who talks about theirs is fixated. Let me tell you a little insider information: we're not. My story has nothing to do with him. It has to do with me. And it has to do with making sure this doesn't happen to my kiddo someday or to our next door neighbor or the new friend I just made at church.
My moving forward in a way that ignores what I've learned is selfish to me. Writing is therapeutic, decompressing and healing for me. We have to talk if we want anything to change. Turning a blind eye to something I experienced directly would be insane to me. Not an option.
Life has gotten amazing lately. We're in an upswing, and I feel like shouting from the rooftops most days "I'm so happy!" which is a nice turn of events to say the least.
But when it is appropriate I will keep telling and sharing to facilitate education, advocacy and change. I am passionate about this. And I'm passionate about other things too: coffee, friendship, my family, parenting, music, etc.
This life is my adventure. I hope you'll be a part of it.
